Description:
This sorting file folder activity was created by Amanda Porter, MPT, with the Oklahoma Assistive Technology Center, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, in Cooperation with the Oklahoma State Department of Education, Special Education Services. Instructions: 1. Print out all pages in the file. 2. Cut out all symbols. (on pages 1-3) 3. Glue the animal and plant labels to the bottom of each side of the file folder (one side will be plants and one side will be animals). 4. Laminate the pictures of the plants and animals (pages 1-2 in the file) and attach hook (hard) Velcro to the back of each symbol. 5. Laminate the file folder. 6. Place two 6 inch strips of loop (soft) Velcro vertically above each label on the file folder. (This is where the student will place the plants or animals.) 7. Store the loose symbols in a Ziploc baggie.
